Cargo used to host these nights where graffiti artists were throwing their best pieces while you could calmly sipping your fine cocktails before exploding in a ‘whoaaaa’ that piece over there is nice. Great times.
When I got into Stolen Space, I was immediately caught by the sense of freshness in Arth Daniel’s execution of the medium of oil paint – the large canvases stood right there on the walls, the colors were anything but attractive, the illustrations, some of you do not see very often.
I have been going around London many times to try to snap up some street art and came across ROA’s stuff on several occasions. I knew little about the guy from Ghent (Belgium) and was therefore very keen on finding out more about him and his obsession with picturing large scale urban wildlife through his spray paint cans.
This is the movie everybody is talking about right now and whoever is behind the promotion of it is just very clever.
