Now is ‘really’ time for Street Art at Black Rat

This is what of those shows that when you hear about them, the automatic and systematic next thing you do is to pencil that in your diary in a big font.

Now’s The Time exhibition at Black Rat gallery is an impressive group show, a sort of retrospective of what Street Art has been in the past few years and what it will be for years to come: getting more and people liking it. The line up is impressive and exciting: Banksy, Faile, Shepard Fairey, Basquiat, Gemeos, Swoon, Keith Haring and Mc Gee. What a great treat to have them all under one roof!

I headed up to the opening night to Black Rat Gallery with great expectations and they were all fulfill. Great turn up, the place was heaving. Great to see stencils and screenprint from Banksy right next to some Fairey’s. All the pieces you have seen on the Internet, in magazines or blogs are here.

The venue at Black Rat Gallery also needs to be mentioned for its greatness with its narrow but very useful for smokers outdoor areas and its DJ booth over viewing the whole gallery. Great lighting enhancing even more the artwork. Great job done here.

Check out the other legendary pieces of Street Art I snapped up going through Cargo garden where the gallery is actually located.

Now’s The Time exhibition is the stuff to see for Street Art addicted after a bit of nostalgia but is also your perfect introduction for novices to learn about a movement here to stay and get into our lives forever.

Get running to the Black Rat Gallery before the 20th May and enjoy.
