The Project is an art competition that will allow emerging talents to gain exposure in one of East London’s cultural hotspots. The twelve-month project includes three commissions launched by three live events, hosted in conjunction with the start of Rich Mix’s new seasons.
Intentional Abstractions marks the artist’s first solo show in the UK. The exhibition comprises of a collection of paintings based on a Amory’s ‘Waiting’ series, which focuses on travelers waiting on undergrounds, subways and platforms.
Diana Taylor’s work, consisting of painting and drawing that will invade the gallery at every level from floor to ceiling operating between and making connections with paintings on birch ply panel.
The works, which combine figuration with a varied pictorial language, at times appear to be constructed of torn pieces from comics, patterned papers and other printed ephemera, but are actually painted.
Be ready for what should be another good show by the folks at Hang-Up in Shoreditch. They are presenting again Alex Daw whose last year show sold out. This year the second solo entitled Proper-Gander in a rather unusual subterranean members club in the city called Eight in a show opening on the 6th December.
