This year, Crunch: the art festival at hay will bring the same mix of thought-provoking debates, incisive talks and late-night parties. For one magical weekend in November, an eclectic set of artists, gallery directors, art critics, authors, academics, philosophers, film-makers and musicians will congregate in Hay to debate the big question: what’s the point of art?

Among a host of others, you’ll have the chance to engage with White Cube’s Marc Quinn, Serpentine Director Julia Peyton-Jones, Turner prize winning artist Martin Creed, human rights activist Bianca Jagger, best-selling author Sarah Thornton, BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz and ICA Director Ekow Eshun.

Crunch 2010 will also be welcoming The Tate’s Great British Art Debate Tent with a mix of solo talks, conversations, music and entertainment. And for the first time ever, Crunch will be showing, and selling, work by some of the UK’s leading artistic talent and galleries at the Crunch Art Fair. All served up with winter-warming mulled cider, hog roasts and nightly displays of pyrotechnic wizardry.

This year, the music line up is rumored to be bigger and better than ever. Confirmed already is folk-siren Laura Marling, band of the moment Man Like Me, fashion-icons The Broken Hearts and music genii Clean Bandit, among others.

Engaging, irreverent and challenging. Be part of Crunch 2010, Hay’s best kept secret. For more information, see www.artfestivalathay.org
