I always expect to see new stuff painted on the walls of Great Eastern street, this street would be probably top of the chart of creativity in London.On my way to Signal gallery to see the new Baldwin show, I had the camera in one hand and the eyes looking around.
I went past it many many times but did not see it or just a glimpse of it and thought that it must be one off graffiti worth seeing surely but no rush for it. I was so wrong.
Cargo used to host these nights where graffiti artists were throwing their best pieces while you could calmly sipping your fine cocktails before exploding in a ‘whoaaaa’ that piece over there is nice. Great times.
This is what of those shows that when you hear about them, the automatic and systematic next thing you do is to pencil that in your diary in a big font.
Now’s The Time exhibition at Black Rat gallery is an impressive group show, a sort of retrospective of what Street Art has been in the past few years and what it will be for years to come: getting more and people liking it.
