Jim Campbell: art and pixels
A man runs. He falls down. He struggles back onto his feet and he runs some more. It’s a simple narrative. Even without much detail, you can understand what’s going on. Pause the video, though, and the scene isn’t nearly as clear. Movement makes up for the lack of other visual information. Your brain can read and understand a video at much lower resolution than it would need to make equal sense of a still frame.
Meet Jim Campbell, a former Silicon Valley engineer turned visual artist. Inspired by early Bell Labs experiments with pixelated images, and by his own engineering work with digital filters, Campbell makes art that toys with the human brain.

Rory McCartney solo exhibition at Arch 402
Arch 402 is pleased to present the latest solo exhibition by acclaimed British artist Rory McCartney. Psycho Boogie introduces a new series of drawings and paintings that continue the artist’s investigations of abstract imagery.
Referencing the visual effects of Op Art, 18th century marbling techniques and 60’s pop-psychedelia, McCartney incorporates the erratic behaviour of materials to create powerful images that are spontaneously and organically formed.
Against McCartney’s flat graphic backgrounds, media such as oil, resin, pigment, and lacquer react to emit an explosion of colour and pattern that is both arresting and surprising.
McCartney’s work has been shown internationally in commercial galleries as well as public spaces including the Royal Academy and the Victoria & Albert Museum.He is the art director of Arena Homme plus magazine, and lives and works in London.

‘Nuit Blanche’ in Toronto, street art encounters

Dots : a Burning Candy film
A document filming and following the entire Burning Candy crew is being shot right now. Their Street Art is a familiar visual encounter on the walls of London and especially in East London and on Brick Lane.
This movie is still being shot but the preview material is now ready to be shown to lucky people. Shoreditch walk at night
One of the best thing of a work do is to find myself stumbling around the streets of Shoreditch quite to very late at night and snap away the many graffitis or street art pieces I may encounter.

LUDO latest streetart in Poland, Katowice
LUDO, French steet art from Paris made a visit to Poland during the Katowice Street Art Festival and took this opportunity to complete this hiuge piece depicting what looks like an aunt wearing “police” gear.
