Alex Meade’s 3D made into 2D street art

Alex Meade and his live paintings | Art-PieMeet Alexa Meade. He creates amazing series of living graffiti art but the twist is that he masters the ability of using actual people made to look like they belong in their 2D graffiti background.

No need to say that the level of careful painting and attention to detail is huge here but it works pretty awesomely to turns three dimensional figures into two dimensional figures. All participants are painted in black and white and cleverly get tangled  in the explosive and coloured backgrounds and the illusion of they are part of the static art is achieved.

You will see a few examples of Alexa Meade below.

The artists, Interesni Kazki (Ukraine), El Mac (USA), Saner (Mexico), Sego (Mexico), Roa (Belgium), Herakut (Germany), Vhils (Portugal) and Ecif (Spain) have gone big, very big for some like Escif.

Included below are some of the mighty pieces of street art that can be seen in the city of Mexico becoming a hot spot for this type of art.

Noise Intercepted, global art project about noise

Labspace Studios | Noise Intercepted

Noise. Noises. They are everywhere these days and unique in their own ways but can they be assimilated to art too?

Labspace Studio ( (a creative agency & art house in Toronto, Canada), the people behind Noise Intercepted, a global art project about noise part of the Noise Project, certainly think so and have just launched their project today. and guess what, we are taking part and are excited about it. But what is it exactly?

Noise Intercepted is a series of ten experience-activated noise challenges that prompt participants to listen, observe and interact with their urban soundscape in new and unlikely ways.

The project brings together over 200 collaborators from 28 countries around the globe — artists, sound ecologists, designers, writers, mothers, fathers, educators, filmmakers, administrators, technicians, scientists, students, programmers, health practitioners, and the list goes on.

Over the course of four months (March – June 2013), participants will be sent (via text msg & email) a series of ten noise challenges and creative prompts.

They have exactly 1-week to respond to each challenge and share their findings here with you.

Narcelio grud take on The Mara Hope in Brazil

By Narcelio Grud | Art-Pie

We always get impressed by large scale works and let’s face it, while Usain Bolt keeps running faster and faster than anyone else, street artists keep taking on bigger and bigger projects.

Narcelio Grud, a street artist from Brazil just did that. When we saw what he did, we immediately though about what a bunch of other street artists such as FinDac, Mr Zero and Fat Heat did to the Duke of Lancaster back in 2013.

What makes Narcelio’s work different and interesting is his abstract approach to this marvellous and colourful piece of art.

For those who are lucky enough to live in Brazil, this piece is using the stranded ship Mara Hope located on Iracema Beach alongside the Brazilian city of Fortaleza.

By Narcelio Grud | Art-Pie

We are thrilled to relay Narcelio’s work on the site as we know he has been following us for a while.

The facts

  • 300 liters of water-based paint were needed
  • The Mara Hope wreckage, a former cargo ship has been stranded  for over 30 years

Well done mate.

Banksy told Time Out: “In New Orleans I painted on a dilapidated shop in a street littered with abandoned cars and rotting mattresses, then two hours later the piece was gone. It turned out I’d picked the side of a crack house and the proprietor didn’t like the attention.”

A kiss between ex-Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and East Germany’s Eric Honecker

The work – a reference to a iconic Berlin Wall mural of a kiss between ex-Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and East Germany’s Eric Honecker – went viral… and the idea has been copied this week for the UK’s referendum on EU membership.

A Bristol street artist created a new mural that features Trump – who has claimed that the UK would be better off outside the EU – instead making out with former Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the de-facto leader of the Brexit campaign.

The work, on the side of Bristol’s old Carriage Works, features the slogan “Not #InForThis? Register to vote on the EU referendum now!”
