Ok these girls below as most probably as beautiful as their tattoos, I’ll give you that. Damn there is a car on that pic and a half naked girl, that’s it I’ll be called ‘sexist’ but on a pure aesthetic point of view, I think this is stunning.

UK based artist TRXTR has a new show but this time in the United States and precisely in Las Vegas. The artist’s work touches on social and moral issues. TRXTR is true ti his style where photography is cleverly mixed with painting through a bunch of techniques
It is difficult not to feel anything when looking at the artist’s work – his work is often disturbing or disconcerting which makes atmospheres transpire to which the viewers ultimately react to it.
From the gallery “Concerns about exploitation, globalization and corruption appear over and over again, but the tone is ambivalent. He is not preaching to us, but reproducing some of the sickly sweet images of commercialism in a way that it is genuinely hard to tell if he is celebrating them or railing against them.”
From the artist “The luck of being born pretty, rich, handsome, gifted and in the majority is real luck in this world. For the rest there is Vegas and its clones where in the nano second before you’re screwed you can imagine what it’s like to be in the one percent.”

After many months of preparation and efforts, Jane Boyer, the curator for the “This Me Of Mine” show, is about to welcome visitor to the first leg of the 4 that makes up this project. Tonight, it will happen at APT Gallery in Deptford – full details at the bottom of this post as well as for the other 3 other legs of the show.
Jane Boyer says – “The financial support and professional recognition by ACE signals their belief in the project message, the mission and goals of Associated Artists Curators & Writers (AACW) – an organisation created to help independent arts practitioners succeed, and in me as curator and project manager. The significance of this grant by ACE in this financial climate gives hope to a future for independent practice in the UK.”
This ‘Me’ of Mine presents a model project for art as social enterprise in the mainstream arts through AACW and seeks to inspire others in the arts community to new approaches in arts presentation, engagement and development.

Another cracking launch party over at East gallery has just happened, this time for the launch of the 14th issue of the VNA magazine.

Artists Statement:
Initially trained as a traditional figurative sculptor and Mouldmaker. I now seek to find new meaning and relevance in old outmoded techniques.
I’m fascinated by the idea of the public monument and much of my work revolves around the need to investigate the way in which society records events and people by casting them in metal and stone.
I seek to rip the idea of the public monument asunder and then re-build it in a new order with a revised iconography. My work seeks to expose and examine the insecurities and frailties of society, and our place within it.
Recent works ‘Gnome Kone’ and ‘Bad Babysitter’ are part of a series of sculptures that are concerned with a playfully sinister bastardization of familiar objects. The pieces have an initial feeling of innocence and irreverence but on closer inspection seem more bizarre and
unsettling.

Incredible images by some of the world’s best wildlife photographers will be brought together in this much-anticipated new book, with exclusive launch event and exhibition in London this month.

Powerful images of rhino taken by some of the world’s top wildlife photographers will be unveiled at a free London exhibition and an evening of talks by leading conservationists, as the much-anticipated Remembering Rhinos book is launched this month.
The beautiful photographic book is a follow-up to the hugely successful Remembering Elephants project, which last year raised over £135k for international wildlife charity Born Free’s elephant conservation work.
It has gained widespread support from a host of celebrities including Russell Crowe, Chris Martin, Joanna Lumley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Amanda Holden, Emilia Fox, Caity Lotz, and Katherine Jenkins, who posed with their copy of the book as part of a social media campaign on World Rhino Day.
Stunning images from the project will be on display at a VIP private view on Tuesday 31st October. The event, held at La Galleria, Pall Mall, will be attended by celebrity wildlife ambassadors as well as a number of the internationally acclaimed photographers, whose work is featured in the book.
The exhibition will remain open 10am – 5pm each day until Saturday 11th November – an unmissable opportunity to view the exquisite imagery, and purchase limited edition prints and copies of the book.
Tickets are still available for a very special evening about rhino conservation and photography at the prestigious Royal Geographic Society, on Wednesday 1st November.
The event will be introduced by Will Travers OBE, President of Born Free and will include talks by Saving the Survivors founder, vet and photographer Johan Marais and former Wildlife Photographer of the Year Steve Winter.
The founder of Remembering Wildlife initiative, Margot Raggett, will compere the evening, which will culminate in an auction of some of the images from the book, presided over by TV auctioneer and Born Free patron, James Lewis.
The books themselves will also be on sale on the night with some of the photographers available to sign them if requested.

We all went to a museum one day (well I hope you did, if not you guys are missing out!) which has a Classical art collection often consisting of a series of nude hunks sculptures.
In the Classical period there was a revolution in Greek statuary, usually associated with the introduction of democracy and the end of the aristocratic culture associated with the kouroi. The Classical period saw changes in the style and function of sculpture. Poses became more naturalistic (see the Charioteer of Delphi for an example of the transition to more naturalistic sculpture), and the technical skill of Greek sculptors in depicting the human form in a variety of poses greatly increased.
But enough of Greek sculptures in their “Classical” sense, let’s look at the series of digital manipulations by French artist Travis Durden adds a Star Wars dimension to it.
Star Wars, for those who don’t know it (…) is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George Lucas.
I do not know for you guys but the chap is pretty gifted at sculpture right? Well it may be but these works will not prove it because these are a series of images manipulated using Photoshop, the popular image editing software.
Durden reimagines Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda, General Grevious and a Storm Trooper as “Darth Resurrection,” “Gladiator Boba,” Angel Yodea,” “General Niobides” and “Storm Reader.”
Travis Durden is a pseudonym, as the Parisian artist behind the project would prefer his art be the center of attention, not himself. Fascinated by the construction of myths & idols, he interrogates how we, as humans, determine what will be raised to popular culture or elevated to divine cult, and how history has influenced us in making this choice.

Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
Dalí attributed his “love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes”to an “Arab lineage”, claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.
Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.
